A New Era in the Warzone: The Biggest Collaboration in Gaming

Call of Duty is gearing up for possibly its biggest collaboration yet when Black Ops: Cold War and Modern Warfare combine in Warzone.

It is currently December 3rd, and that means it is exactly one week until the long-awaited release of the new and improved Warzone game. Previously, Warzone ran on the Modern Warfare engine, with Modern Warfare exclusive guns, characters, scorestreaks, etc. Now, with the release of Cold War, Activision announced that because of the massive amount of love for Warzone, the game would be supported throughout the release of new games. This meant that the two (technically three) games would all combine. Fans have been preparing for this the updated game to launch, the now we know when it will come out: December 10th. The release of the first season of Cold War will also be the first day that the two games mix, and it will be a milestone in the Call of Duty universe, as it will be the first time that progression will be linked between three different games: Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Let's take a look at what we know so far.

Battle Pass: How Much Will it Be?

Just like the seasons throughout Warzone previously, the first season of Cold War Warzone will feature a battle pass where you can earn weapons, operators, and more by progressing through the game. The Battle Pass will be able to be purchased for 900 COD Points, or $10. The Battle Pass will once again contain 100 tiers, each including something new that the player can unlock and use.

How Will it Work?

This is the most confusing part of fans. This will be the a first for Call of Duty, as it is the first time two titles will be able to play together, and and as most players know, the two games feature extremely different engines, systems, gameplay mechanics, guns, characters, scorestreaks, items, and so much more. The games are vastly different, and each multiplayer within the games features things unique to their own game. However, all of these things will come into play in Warzone, as all the content, including the guns, operators, perks, and scorestreaks from both game will now be available in Warzone. Not much is known about how exactly the two games will mesh when it comes to gameplay, but although Warzone will feature weapons from both titles, it will reportedly still run on Modern Warfare's engine.

Obviously this is no easy task, as combining two completely different systems is something that has not really been done before. The main question to be asked is this: can Activision pull it off smoothly and integrate the games well? That remains to be answered, but from what we have seen so far, it seems they are sold on keeping Warzone a fun and exciting game. As a Call of Duty fan, that gives me a lot of hope because I personally love Warzone, and I am glad that they know what their fans want.

Overall, I am very excited for whats coming up in the future for Call of Duty, and I can't wait to see what is in store for Warzone. As a Call of Duty fan this has been a really exciting series of events, and I look forward to seeing how it all works. Let me know what you guys think about the upcoming changes in the comments, and try go get some more Warzone wins before December 10th. See you in the Warzone!

I've played Warzone before but never put a lot of time into learning it, so many of the new updates escape me and I don't know what's going on in the game. This blog helps a lot with that because it tells about a new update that Warzone will have. It teaches about the new update while speculating what that update means for the game in if it would affect the game drastically or only minorly.
